Mark your calendars for the ultimate battle of the badges! On January 28th, starting at 1 PM, March First Brewing on Kemper Rd is hosting a chili cook-off like no other, pitting the finest firefighters and police officers against each other in a fiery competition for chili dominance!

Here's how it heats up:

• Fiery Culinary Clash: Our brave first responders will be bringing their secret chili recipes to the table, ready to tantalize your taste buds and win your vote. Expect bold flavors, comforting classics and maybe even a few surprises!

• Sample and Vote: Buy samples and embark on a delicious journey through the world of chili. Cast your vote for your favorites and help us crown a best of show!

• For a Good Cause: All proceeds from the cook-off will be going to the Chip Terry Fund for First Responders and the Police Unity Tour.

This event is more than just a competition, it's a celebration of the heroes of our community. Come out and show your support!

If you are a police officer of fire fighter and would like to participate please reach out to our taproom Jimmy Holdren at jholdren@marchfirstbrewing.com. Once you reach out he will send over the details and rules for the competition. There will be prizes for the best chilis!

Judges for the best chili will start around 2:30 and people's choice voting will end at 4:00pm. We got a great deal on some amazing trophies from Crown Trophy here in Cincinnati! Hit them up if you need any kind of awards in the Cincinnati area.

Additionally we will have some K9 officers with Amberly Village and Norwood in the taproom as well raising money to buy ballistic vests for police dogs. Help us raise money to protect K9s in the line of duty.

Chip Terry Fund For First Responders

​

Chip Terry was a father, husband, son, brother, coach, and firefighter who worked for the City of Covington for nearly 30 years. He, along with many other first responders, struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Injuries. This has lead many to alcoholism, drug addictions, high divorce rates, and sadly, suicide. Unknown to everyone, including himself, Chip struggled for many years with Post Traumatic Stress Injuries and finally lost his battle. He committed suicide on September 15, 2017 leaving behind his wife of 31 years, 6 children, and one grandson. As a family and with the support of our friends, we are on a mission to help other families avoid the loss of their loved one, who has devoted his/her life to serving others.

Police Unity Tour

​

In 1997, Florham Park (NJ) Police Officer Patrick Montuore had a simple idea: organize a four-day bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, DC to raise public awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, and to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten. With that, the Police Unity Tour was formed.

What started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. has grown into 9 chapters consisting of nearly 2,600 members nationwide who make the trip annually. Participants include riders, motorcycles, and support personnel.

The journey is long and challenging, but for the Police Unity Tour participants it is what they prepare for throughout the year. Through fundraising and physical training, they know that their efforts raise awareness of the ultimate sacrifice made by so many law enforcement officers.

​

The last leg of the journey ends at the Memorial, where the participants are greeted by friends, family, and survivors. Once there, many Police Unity Tour members present remembrance bracelets worn on their wrists throughout the journey to the families of the fallen.

​

In May 2022, the Police Unity Tour was proud to donate $2.0 million to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, bringing our total donations to more than $33 million since its inception.

The Police Unity Tour is the sponsor of the National Law Enforcement Museum’s Hall of Remembrance, the Memorial Fund’s Officer of the Month Award, and other special programs.
